People make decisions about the goods and services they buy at all times of the day, during all kinds of activities. With digital ads, you can reach audiences when they are browsing online for products to buy.
What is digital marketing? put simply, digital marketing is using digital channels such as websites and social media as tools for marketing communication. If you’re using social media you will be well versed in the adverts that pop up in your stream—that’s digital marketing. What is traditional marketing? traditional marketing on the other hand involves traditional channels, like billboards and printed media. Think don draper in mad men brainstorming tv commercial ideas and copy for coca-cola. Up until the development of the internet in the 1990’s, traditional marketing was pretty much the only type of marketing. Of course traditional marketing doesn’t mean it’s old fashioned.
A web site is arguably the single most important marketing tools and it is an insight into what people are interested and how they find your website and move around it. How many people have visited your site? where are they coming from, natural search, through pay-per-click (ppc), social media or email campaigns? you can monitor the change in your figures over time, giving you real information about whether your marketing message is getting through to the right people.

Ppc or pay-per-click is a type of internet marketing which involves advertisers paying a fee each time one of their ads is clicked. Simply, you only pay for advertising if your ad is actually clicked on. It’s essentially a method of ‘buying’ visits to your site, in addition to driving website visits organically. One of the most popular forms of ppc is

engine advertising, which allows advertisers to pay for ad placement in a search engine’s sponsored links. This works when someone searches for a keyword related to their business offering.
For example, if we bid on the keyword ‘google shopping management’ our ad might show up at the top of the google results page.
2. Identify your target audience.

We work extensively with all the big social platforms, like linkedin, instagram and facebook, and digital channels such as google display and search. With a big focus on delivering results for our clients, we will manage day-to-day campaign optimisation, and present a full analytics & insights report for each client both during and at post campaign stages.
My role is quite varied. It involves working on a lot of campaign briefs that i receive from advertising agencies. For example, brand x has a budget of y and has specific objectives for the campaign in terms of click through and other metrics. Our job is to persuade the agency that they should advertise with us as opposed to someone else and also how they should best spend their money with us , using our inventory which includes printed newspapers and online properties like independent. Ie. Depending on the scale of the brief, we can do quite a lot of brainstorming with people on the team.
