Hello breaktime folks – i am cross posting this here from the knots forum in the event some of you who may be able to answer my questions don’t get over there. Thanks! hi guys/gals, i have an opportunity to bid on a set of cabinets for a local home – no big issue except that the master bath has a curved wall and homeowner would like cabinets  curved to match radius of wall. I have not seen the home or plans, but it sounds like about an 8 ft run or possibly a tad longer. So……. Here come the questions: i believe that i could reasonably fabricate curved face frames after producing a template from the finished wall – either from face laminating stock to the desired thickness (and bandsawing) or glued lamination of thinner veneers on a form.

Face Frame Standard Options

The fenwick door is a 22mm shaker style door wrapped in uni-colour wood-grain style vinyl. It’s 5-piece dowelled construction and 2mm abs end cap edging mean it’s a robust and durable door. Plain frames are available on standard size doors at standard door price +50%. Fenwick kitchen doors: kitchen door sizes between 356 - 1734mm high are supplied 5-piece as standard. The centre panel grain direction will always be vertical. Minimum door width 246mm.

Attach the back veneer with a vacuum press

You are probably not getting even pressure over the whole door. You should use both male & female formers unless you are using a vacuum press then only a male one will be needed. Even with a lot of clamps you can still get gaps and uneven thickness of the finished item. A veneer press will give a good even pressure with no voids i tend to prefer 1. 5mm birch ply for laminating as it is a bit more flexible than 3mm mdf but once the glue has set is very rigid. It also has a more glue friendly surface.

1 Door Curved Wall Cabinet

The curved carcasses are available 720mm high and are 300mm wide. They are supplied in a 300mm depth for wall units and a 560mm depth for base/tall units. Please select whether the curved carcass should be on the left or right side (the image is of a left-hand unit). Integrated soft close hinges units have 2 adjustable shelves. We can also supply these units edged with a 2mm vinyl strip which gives a high quality finish to the mfc. See selection box, below. These items can be made in a variety of colours. We have identified the closest matches for most of the door colours to help you in your selection.
