Types of Orthodontic Treatment
Following her qualification as a dental surgeon, dr. Máirlín o’donnell practised as a family dentist for several years, during this time she also enjoyed a period in rural romania treating children with limited access to dental services. Pursing a career in orthodontics was always her goal, upon successful completion of a full-time 3 year speciality msc degree in orthodontics in the university of london, máirlín was also awarded a membership in orthodontics from the royal college of surgeons in edinburgh in 2000. Early in her orthodontic career, mairlin travelled abroad and enjoyed exposure to orthodontic practices both in pittsburgh, usa and in queeensland, australia and these experiences have helped to form the broad range of brace types on offer in her orthodontic treatment plans.
What is orthodontics? orthodontics is the specialised branch of dentistry that deals with the diagnosis & treatment of problems caused by poor alignment of the teeth & jaws, and is carried out using different types of braces.
