Phecc is the regulator responsible for ensuring the standards and quality of the first aid responder (far) course content, the examinations and the recognised institutions and approved training institutions (ris and atis) who are authorised, by phecc to deliver the education courses. The phecc far course is the only first aid certificate recognised by the health and safety authority (hsa). Responsibility for delivering phecc courses is delegated to recognised institutions and approved training institutions. As a healthcare regulator, phecc are not in a position to approve or authorise ri/atis to open or not open during the current pandemic.

The aim of this first aid responder(far) course is to provide you with the knowledge, skills and attitude to become a competent first aid responder. The phecc far course is the only first aid certificate recognised by the health and safety authority (hsa). The course covers all the essential aspects of training. This course is perfect for anyone who is looking to gain emergency first aid skills leading to qualification as a first aid responder. Duration: 3 days.

The safety, health and welfare at work (general application) regulations 2007: part 7 – chapter 2: regulation 165(1)(b) requires employers to designate at each place of work under the employer’s control the number of first-aiders as is necessary to give first aid training at the place of work concerned. Phecc has designed the first aid response (far) standard to offer appropriate training to individuals and groups who require a first aid skill set including cardiac first response. This standard is designed to meet first aid and basic life support (bls) requirements that a person known as “first aid responder” may encounter.

PHECC First Aid Response Course

Description: this first aid response is designed to provide training to staff who intend to fulfil a position of     first aider within the workplace. Participants will develop the necessary skills to deal with all injury emergencies at work and give effective life support to casualties. Our course is phecc accredited and is run to hsa guidelines. What is first aid response? if an employee is hurt or injured, first aid response is the emergency treatment given on site, before professional medical care arrives. This care given at a work site can be anything from cleaning and bandaging a minor wound to performing cpr until an ambulance arrives.

Q. What is the requirement for a childcare service regarding first aid training? a. Person trained in “first aid for children” is required to be available to the children at all times. Currently there is no accredited paediatric first aid course. Where a person has undertaken training in paediatric/first aid for children and has supporting documentation this is acceptable.  q. How can staff be sure that the training they are undertaking is up to standard? a: there is no accredited first aid course specifically for use with children and it has been the practice for staff in early years services to undertake training that has been adapted to take account of paediatric emergencies.

Students must demonstrate a range of competencies in order to achieve the first aid response standard. Upon completion of a recognised first aid response course the student will be able to: recognise and assess the causes and effects of sudden illness and/or injury in a pre-hospital environment and call for emergency medical services. React to such pre-hospital emergencies utilising phecc clinical practice guidelines. Respond in a safe, effective, and appropriate manner to such emergencies utilising the first aid response skill set and in accordance with phecc clinical practice guidelines as part of the pre-hospital continuum of care. Record and report actions and interventions taken while responding to and managing such incidents and during handover to emergency medical services.

Phecc first aid response training anderlift safety services are now an approved training institution (a. T. I. ) with phecc (pre-hospital emergency care council). This recognition will enable us to offer clients both the first aid response and first aid response refresher courses. Who are phecc and what do they do? phecc are the pre-hospital emergency care council. Pre-hospital emergency care is any clinical care or intervention that an acutely ill or injured person receives from trained personnel in the pre-hospital environment. This immediate care can make a huge difference to someone’s mortality or morbidity. Emergency care can be given by someone within the community such as a gp, someone who has trained as a responder, or by registered practitioners.

Mental Health First Aid at Work Instructor Course

Do you know what to do in an emergency situation? the new 3-day phecc (pre-hospital emergency care council) first aid training course provides appropriate training to individuals and groups who require a first aid skill set including cardiac first response. Since the 1st june 2018, the health and safety authourity (hsa) only recognises the pre-hospital emergency care council (phecc) first aid response standard as meeting the needs of occupational first aid in workplaces while qqi ofa courses completed prior to 1st june 2018 will be recognised for the full 2 years duration, courses after that date will not be recognised by the hsa.

First aid respnder training 3 days first aid responder -- 2 day (refresher) training -- cfr / aed training this course is a very comprehensive 3 day course, which covers all the essential aspects of the first aid responder (far) as outlined in the latest phecc & hsa guidance. This course will provide learners with the knowledge & practical skills to give effective life support, diagnose & treat injuries or illnesses of the casualty. First aid responder (far) training is in compliance with the requirements of the safety, health & welfare at work (general application) regulations 2007, part 7 – chapter 2.

The course is designed to provide the learner with the knowledge, practical skills and understanding required to provide and coordinate first aid in the workplace. This pre-hospital emergency care council (phecc) first aid response course (far) is the new first aid training standard for occupational first aid in the workplace recognised by both the health & safety authority and phecc. Who is the course intended for? this course is intended for anyone who wish to become certified first aid responder. Option 1: thurs 6th, wed 12th & wed 19th april 2023 option 2: wed 26th, thurs 27th & fri 28th april 2023 training methodology: this course is a classroom based and instructor led highly interactive programme utilising a range of training methods: presentation, small group interactions, demonstrations and practical hands-on aed training.

Under the safety, health and welfare at work (general application) regulations 2007,chapter 2 of part 7,  there is a requirement on employers, based on a risk assessment of their work, to have sufficient numbers of occupational first aiders trained and deployed in the workplace. With training from tmc instructors, our occupational first aid courses will satisfy your legal requirements under the the relevant regulations. All tmc instructors are registered as occupational first aid instructors with the health & safety authority agent, ofaaa. First aid response or far is phecc’s newest education and training standard. It’s a foundation first aid course that trains course participants to provide first aid.

PHECC First Aid Response Course (FAR)

First aid response (far) is a phecc certified course recognised by the health and safety authority as the standard for first aid at work. It is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide emergency first aid should the need arise. Aims on completion of this course, participants will be able to: • display skills related to the delivery of a first aid response • assist in the recovery of people suffering medical emergencies • provide adequate cover before emergency services arrive • provide first aid in the workplace amongst other environments who should attend/pre-requisites this course is perfect for anyone who is required to act as first aider in their place of work, community group or voluntary organisation.

Certification: phecc first aid responder dates: 9th, 16th & 23rd may duration: three days – 9. 30am to 4. 30pm location: county wexford chamber of commerce, hill street, county wexford. Course title: phecc first aid responder training aim: to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to be a first aid responder and understanding required to provide and coordinate first aid in the workplace in compliance with the requirements of the safety, health and welfare at work (general application) regulations 2007. Learning outcomes: learners who successfully complete this module will: deal with life threatening or potentially life threatening conditions until arrival of emergency medical services. Provide first aid response for conditions not thought to be life-threatening but are necessary to prevent further harm before the emergency medical services arrive.

Our first aid responder course replaces the current occupational first aid course. Far also includes the full phecc cardiac first response community standard. This programme requires a high level of trainee participation and interaction where the theory is enhanced by practical demonstration of skills and practical application by trainees.

Aims: there is no minimum age for undertaking the course. However, a course participant should be mature enough to comprehend the knowledge, skills and implications associated with defibrillation. Minimum of 18 hours of instructor led tuition over 3 six-hour days (not including breaks) we also offer a 2 day refresher course.
