Deal with life threatening or potentially life threatening conditions in the pre-hospital environment until arrival of emergency medical services. Provide first aid response for conditions not thought to be life-threatening but are necessary to prevent further harm before the emergency medical services arrive. Provide pre-hospital first aid response in a wide range of environments including home and recreational setting s. Display the requisite personal skills including composure, competence and self-confidence while understanding their limitations. Recognise and be able to cope with the additional challenges provided by “special circumstances” for which additional training must be completed. Our first aid responder course replaces the current occupational first aid course. Far also includes the full phecc cardiac first response community standard. This programme requires a high level of trainee participation and interaction where the theory is enhanced by practical demonstration of skills and practical application by trainees.

You will be required to complete a 20 questions mcq on the final day. Preparation for far skill (s) assessment. Your far and cfr skills will be assessed on the final day of the course. This is a foundation course that teaches participants first aid for a person who suddenly become ill or has an accident, until the emergency services arrive. You will be taught cpr and how to use a defibrillator and basic first aid. Course will be delivered by a combination of presentations, demonstrations and practical sessions. The assessment will be skills based and a short multiple choice question exam on the skills learned on the course. On successful completion you will receive a certificate and card, valid for 2years course price includes: care of the unconscious patient burns and electrical injury care hypothermia and hyperthermia.

What will I receive on the course?

Burns and chemical injuries first aid kit recommendations this course is normally run over three consecutive working days, between 9am and 5pm. Alternative arrangements may be made depending on staff availability, leave, shift obligations etc. Please note however, that the same amount of time will be required to conduct the course even if alternative arrangements are made. The course can be held in our training facility in limerick city, or on the customer’s premises if a suitable training venue exists. Upon successful completion of the course students will receive the first aid responder certificate, thereby satisfying the requirements as set out in the hsa’s ‘guidelines on first aid at places of work’.

The hybrid wfr is the newest in our line-up of course offerings and includes an e-learning module and an in- person module. The e-learning module requires 30+ hours of online, computer-based learning that must be completed prior to participating in 40+ hours of in-person learning over the course of five (5) days. The hybrid wfr is suited for those new to wilderness medicine as well as those with some previous medical experience. The online learning modules are designed with multiple learning preferences in mind. Interactive videos, readings, self-practice assignments, quizzes, and case studies prepare students to apply the curriculum during in-person drills and scenarios.

We are a kerry based first aid training provider that delivers first aid training courses throughout ireland. Fetac registered and certified training. Registered with the occupational first aid assessment agency (ofaaa) as an instructor. Registered cardiac first responder instructor. Qfa instructor. Pre-hospital emergency care council (phecc) registered. Kerry first aid training can provide training at a variety of locations to suit our clients needs. On site training at your business or organisations premises. For individual training or training for smaller groups your private residence can be used.

The first aid responder course is aimed at employees who wish to act as an occupational first aider for their company. Under the general application regulations, 2007 (part 7 chapter 2 first aid) requires companies to train a number of their employees to act as occupational first aiders in the workplace. The first aid responder course is also suitable for those wishing to train as a first aider for emergency situations occurring in everyday life. The first aid responder course is an interactive course where there is a mix of theory and practical methods of training throughout the course.

The health & safety authority (hsa) now recognises the first aid response (far) training course as meeting the needs of occupational first aid. This 2-day course is open to anyone who currently holds a valid occupational first aid or first aid response certificate which is due for renewal – even if the previous training was not provided by us. Refresher courses are essential every two years to maintain your status as an first aid responder, to keep up with developments in first aid and to refresh skills learned previously that may be only intermittently used.
